there is no specific topic but we are focusing on issues that have
traditionally been marginalized.  any field of philosophy concerning gender,
race, sexuality, political, immigration, radical, etc.  if you go to
conference2005.swapusa.org and look under the program link, you can see what
sorts of papers we had last year.  here is this year's call for papers in
case you need it.

Conference Dates: March 31st & April 1st, 2006

Keynote Speakers:

   - Bat-Ami Bar On: Professor and Chair of Philosophy and Women's
   Studies at Binghamton University
   - Shelley Wilcox: Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Temple
   University, Treasurer of the Easter Division of the Society for Women in
   Philosophy

The Society for Women's Advancement in Philosophy is planning their second
annual conference, and we are seeking both (1) paper submissions suitable
for a 20 minute presentation, and (2) collaborative panel proposals. We
encourage submissions on any branch of philosophy applied to topics of race,
sexuality, gender, and related topics. Radical philosophy is welcome.

Submission Guidelines:

   - Submission Deadline: February 13th
   - Paper submissions:
      - Include complete paper and abstract (up to 150 words).
      - All paper submissions are blind-reviewed. No
      author-identifying information in the text of the paper.
      - Include author and contact information in the text of e-mail
      or cover letter (for mailed submissions).
   - Panel proposals:
      - Panel proposals should include a topic title, a 250 word
      (maximum) abstract from each participant as well as a 250 word (maximum)
      statement that explains the importance and relevance of the panel. In a
      separate document include a list of confirmed participants along
with their
      affiliations.
   - Email submissions or proposals: Include submission as attachment
   (.rtf, .doc, or .pdf file). Send to: conference2006 at swapusa.org OR
   - Mail submissions or proposals to:
   Philosophy Department
